We are two high school students wanting to shed light on humans, on the individuals and their plights. We have all seen the news, we have all felt the wave of fear that has come with the refugee crisis. Under the endless barrage of tallies and xenophobia, we have forgotten the humans; we have forgotten that each refugee has a face and a name, a past, present and future: a story. A familiar collage of hopes, dreams and fears that every person clings to, the very mixture that binds us all together; our humanity and from this shared humanity grows our collective understanding. In the hopes of reclaiming the compassion that has slipped through society's fingers, we have started Refugees of Paris to amplify the voice of those who are too often silenced, through the mediums of photography and journalism.
